A very warm welcome to Plumstead and Woolwich Rail Users’ Group. The group is the official passenger stakeholder group for users of Plumstead, Woolwich Arsenal and Woolwich Dockyard stations. The Group has no formal membership process and is open to anyone who uses these stations, whether you are an SE18 resident or travel in from neighbouring areas such as Thamesmead .
Rail User Groups (RUG’s) provide a strong voice for rail passengers in lobbying for better rail services. Rail User Groups are recognised by the Train Operating Companies as the main passenger stakeholder.
Formed in August 2019, Plumstead and Woolwich Rail Users’ Group (PAWRUG) joins other Rail User Groups in the area including the Greenwich Line Users’ Group in providing an official community point of contact for the Train Operating Companies and a strong collective voice for users of three closely-linked National Rail stations on the North Kent Line, Plumstead, Woolwich Arsenal and Woolwich Dockyard.
Plumstead and Woolwich Rail Users’ Group will work constructively with the Train Operating companies Southeastern Railway, Govia Thameslink Railway, and the infrastructure provider Network Rail in lobbying for better rail services. PAWRUG will also work with local MP’s and Councillors on rail travel issues faced by constituents, as well as other community groups.
PAWRUG is independent, strictly non-political and receives no funding.
PAWRUG is affiliated to Railfuture, the independent campaign for better rail services, which provides invaluable support to Rail User Groups nationwide.
Why Plumstead and Woolwich and not Woolwich and Plumstead? Because PAWRUG is a great acronym!
