A very warm welcome to the Plumstead Rail Users’ Group blog. We are the official passenger stakeholder group for users of Plumstead rail station on the North Kent / Woolwich Line.
The Group has no formal membership process and anyone who uses the station can sign up for blog posts or feed in issues and ideas via the email address.
Rail User Groups (RUG’s) provide a strong voice for rail passengers in lobbying for better rail services. Rail User Groups are recognised by the Train Operating Companies (TOC’s) as the official passenger stakeholder group.
Originally formed in 2019 as Plumstead and Woolwich Rail Users’ Group, the group now concentrates solely on Plumstead, and was remaned as Plumstead Rail Users’ Group (PLUMRUG) in 2022. PLUMRUG joins other Rail User Groups in the area including the Greenwich Line Users’ Group , in providing an official community point of contact for the Train Operating Companies and a strong collective voice for passengers.
Plumstead Rail Users’ Group works constructively with the Train Operating companies Southeastern Railway, Govia Thameslink Railway, and the infrastructure provider Network Rail in lobbying for better rail services and station facilities.
PLUMRUG is independent, strictly non-political and receives no funding.
PLUMRUG is affiliated to Railfuture, the independent campaign for better rail services, which provides invaluable support to Rail User Groups nationwide.
